Listography - Top 5 Things That Make Me Happy

The lovely Kate at Kate Takes 5 is to thank for this blog post. On the current happy trend, I just couldn't resist taking part in her Listography call for the Top 5 things that make me happy.

I have a feeling number 1 will be a strong runner for the most frequent answer (well, not that everyone loves my girls, but maybe 'our own children' could be the the winning answer?!).

1. My gorgeous girls. Of course they drive me to distraction too, but you can't have the smooth without the rough, eh?! Or the up without the down, or the pancake without the egg.... OK, sorry, just wittering now...

2. Sunshine on a winter's day. So good for mood-lifting.

3. Having a good old chin-wag catch-up with friends, old and new.

4. Being in an airport on my own, no rush and no kids to be responsible for (I mean, obviously I miss them, but... bliss).

5. Fry's Chocolate Cream. You just can't beat it. Sigh.

That's it. Short and sweet, just like Kate said. Hope everyone can go away and think of 5 things that make them happy on this beautiful sunny winter's day?

  4. I like travelling - and did it on my own again for the first time in a long time the other week. There was something very enjoyable about the lack of responsibility!

    1. I actually think it's the total peace... which sounds strange when you think you're out there with thousands of others, but it's just your own head space again!

  7. I'd go for all of those except the airport one - airports just stress me out totally, if I never flew again it would be too soon!

  8. I totally agree about the travelling alone. I know it will happen again one day... I have never had a Fry's Chocolate Cream. I have only ever seen their Turkish Delight both in New Zealand and Singapore. I am intrigued.

  9. Oh so agree with your number 5!!! For me, it's hard to leave the house and say good-bye, but I know that once I'm at the airport and I can actually put the headphones and turn the ipod on, I feel like myself again! And what's this? I can stroll around the Duty Free at my own leisure? And actually go to the toilet on the plane hassle-free? Luxury!!!

    1. Exactly. Although I do seem to remember once I left the plane toilet door open... ooops. Old/post babies habits die hard I guess ;)

  20. Fry's - do they still exist then? I do like after eights; very hard not to eat the whole box! Do like a decent chin-wag as well - always feel happy afterwards. Deb
