I'm a Northern seasider. Bit like a fish out of water down here near Lah-ndon Town.
I consider myself so lucky to have been brought up at the seaside - born and raised in the big Northern red and blue city until the age of 6, but then moved happily to where my maternal grandparents lived. As my Dad worked away at sea a lot, I can only really imagine now I have my own children how important that move must have been for my mother. I know my Dad would have liked the chance to enjoy the seaside with us a bit more too.
Anyhow, I digress. Last week, for the first few days of the Easter holiday, we got the chance to return to, and play in, my hometown. Despite the fact that the warm weather cruelly passed through the week before we got there, we still had a wonderful time. Sun (freezing cold but still shining), sea (in the distance) and sand - and even donkeys on the beach! Throw in a good old bit of harmless Pier and amusement arcade gambling and the good times were definitely rolling. I think we even brought some candy floss back with us!
So here are just a few of my happy pictures from last week - making use of the lovely Picnik website's collage function which is sadly about to disappear for ever.
These extra two were edited in Picmonkey though, which is the Picnik replacement. It's fabulous, and can only be improved upon when they get around to adding a collage function!
I do love photos. If you'd like to see more of mine please do click on my 366 pics blog. Wish my job was to spend all this time looking at and editing them....
Ace pics, mate :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks - hope they bring back smiley memories for you too :-)
